Academic Terms & Class Hours<\/strong>
Qilu Institute follows the traditional Chinese academic calendar, divided into two semesters per year. Each subject has one class per week, with a duration of 1.5 hours (special subjects may run 1\u20132 hours\/week).\n\nFirst Semester: Early September \u2013 Late January; \n\nSecond Semester: Early February \u2013 Late June; \n\nSummer: July\u2013August \u2013 Summer Camp Programs; \n\nAfter-School Care: Offered from September to June. \n\nThroughout the year, the school organizes major events such as holiday galas, ice skating, picnics, Easter egg hunts, and spring sports meets during Christmas, Chinese New Year, Easter, and end-of-year celebrations.

    Award Policies<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Medalists (Gold\/Silver\/Bronze) in major competitions (e.g., Waterloo Math Contest) will receive $150 \/ $100 \/ $50 respectively when enrolling in the corresponding subject. Students achieving 95% or higher in public school subjects will receive a one-time $30 award when enrolling in the same subject.<\/li>\n
    2. Successful teacher referrals: $30 award<\/li>\n
    3. Accepted improvement suggestions to the Institute: $30 award<\/li>\n
    4. Current students referring new students: Referrer receives $30, new student receives $15<\/li>\n

      Payment & Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. All tuition must be paid before attending classes.<\/li>\n
      2. Except for Summer Camps, tuition must be paid in full per semester or per academic year (no installment plans).<\/li>\n
      3. Summer Camps are charged weekly. If daily payment is required, the daily fee = 1.5\u20132x the average daily rate.<\/li>\n
      4. Payment methods: E-transfer, cheque, or cash (no card payments accepted).<\/li>\n
      5. Cash payments: Registration fee ($30) waived and no TAX.<\/li>\n
      6. Returned cheques: Additional $25 admin fee.<\/li>\n

        Trial Classes<\/strong><\/p>\n

        1. One free trial lesson is available for all courses (except one-on-one tutoring). If the student does not enroll after the trial, no fee is charged. If enrolling, tuition will be counted from the trial class onward.<\/li>\n
        2. Trial lessons must be booked one week in advance. Otherwise, prepayment and registration are required.<\/li>\n
        3. Parents should provide learning needs in advance and encourage students to ask questions during class.<\/li>\n

            Class Adjustment<\/strong><\/p>\n

            1. Parents may request class transfers. Adjustments depend on class availability and teacher approval.<\/li>\n
            2. If minimum class size is not reached, the school may cancel the class.<\/li>\n
            3. If parents wish to continue despite low enrollment, the class length may be reduced to 1 hour with same tuition, or the class may be converted to 1-on-1 \/ 1-on-2 format with adjusted tuition.<\/li>\n

              Absent Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n

              1. To maintain continuity, absences should be avoided.<\/li>\n
              2. Absence requests must be submitted 24 hours in advance (phone, email, or WeChat) along with a make-up request.<\/li>\n
              3. Each student is entitled to two free make-up lessons per term. Beyond this, no make-up or refund is provided. Make-up classes must be scheduled within the same week.<\/li>\n
              4. Friday absences must be made up before that Friday, since Saturday begins the next teaching cycle.<\/li>\n

                Refund Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n

                1. Full refund with no fees if withdrawal occurs before classes start..<\/span>

                2. Withdrawal after start but before halfway point: 50% tuition refund minus $50\u2013$100 fee, regardless of attendance.<\/li>\n
                3. Course cancellation due to low enrollment: full refund.<\/li>\n
                4. No refund if more than half the course is completed.<\/span>.<\/li>\n
                5. No refunds for weather-related cancellations or force majeure.<\/li>\n
                6. Refund requests must be submitted in writing (email or online form). Oral requests are invalid.<\/li>\n
